The WWF administration building in Elmadağ is located at the intersection of Turna Street and Nispet Streets in an environment where old Turkish houses with bay windows are located. When designing the green management building, Oney Architecture first analyzed environmental data. It included the sun, shade and form diagrams in the design process to increase the energy efficiency of the building. It determined the prevailing solar angles for summer and the shade diagrams of the location of the building according to certain hours for winter, autumn, summer and spring, and the factors that will create the building design. Diagrams of the existing building area and height, the functions on the lower floors, the cleft and daylight reaching the lower floors for daylight have determined the building form. The usage patterns and places of public spaces created the main circulation. There are three circulation units: a sculptural staircase for the exhibition areas, a secondary staircase to be used as a fire escape and an elevator. In the management building designed as a green building, ecological, efficient lighting units, solar panels, moving panels that block direct sunlight are used. Upon growing plants on the terrace, special vertical plant platforms were designed. With the retracted area on the facade, the idea of taking natural daylight into the exhibition areas was developed. Visitors can navigate the exhibition areas with a continuous ramp from the entrance area. The main floors are designed as a ramp. The facade design was made according to the natural ventilation data and controlled lighting and daylight were provided to reach the interior with the profile material with high thermal insulation value. FSC approved ecological wooden materials are included in areas such as light-permeable material and naturally lit amp. For natural lighting, sun tunnel application was considered in the floor. Primarily, passive air-conditioning products with high level of environmental sensitivity and high energy efficiency are included in insufficient situations.
