The area allocated for the new ASTI is 100.000 m2 and it is located on the Southeast of Ankara, next to Ankara ring road. Due to the inclined structure of the land, it has been considered appropriate to set the lay out on the two sides of the bed stream. The excavations have been used for elevation in the way to allow leveling. A two-storied solution has been implemented in the bus circulation area in order to avoid the overlapping of arriving and departing passengers. Another reason of reserving the hill in the land for the future is because it overlooks to Channel Ankara project. In consideration with the climatic conditions of Ankara, indoor waiting lounges have been projected around the platforms. In order to reduce the construction period, sub-basement productions have been made in concrete and all other superstructures have been planned as steel. The cover coat of the structures have been made from membrane type material. In order to decrease the operating costs, the day light is used at maximum and roof ventilations are provided for natural ventilation. Besides, in terms of renewable energy sources, use of solar panels are considered both on the roof cover and above the car park areas.
