Aselsan Solar Car Park
A need to cover the car park by way of sustainable energy use has emerged for the facilities which develop and produce technologies for defense industry. The project aims to produce solar power and at the same time collect rain water at the already active car park. The north-south lay out required for the efficient functioning of the solar panels have been provided by the revision made to the car park lay out and the load-bearing feet have been planned in the way to correspond with the car park axis. The rain water coming from the roof panel reach to the lower cover through the holes in the panels and it is transferred to the underground collection channels by way of the pump network placed in the load-bearing system. In order to prevent the sliding of snow and ice as a whole, which may be formed in the field during the winter months due to continental climate, and cause any damages to the cars underneath, grids are projected at the ending points of the panels. Besides, each parking block has been grouped in itself to achieve the most efficient insolation angle.
