Water Polo Complex

Designed to be used during the 2015 European Games held in Baku, the building is located on an area of 9800 m2. Located within the Olympic complex, the facilities include 37m swimming pool for competition, one swimming pool for warming up and other supporting units. The roof inspired by the arm movements of the swimmers, also covers the tribunes which have a capacity of 2800 people. Designed completely with prefabricated elements in consideration with the construction period, the building is projected in a flexible structure that can serve long,term. While the windows on the facade provide controlled daylight to the interior, the light used during the competitions when it is dark has been intended to be inviting and illuminate the surrounding area. Such windows have also been considered for the area under tribunes, administrative offices, dressing rooms, massage rooms and teams' rooms.
